West Palm Beach is getting a Greek rooftop restaurant with better views than your friend’s boat club membership.
Kyma, the modern Greek restaurant with big-deal locations in Manhattan’s Flatiron District, Hudson Yards, and Roslyn on Long Island, is opening in downtown West Palm Beach in December.
This is Kyma’s first project outside New York, and they’re not exactly easing into Florida quietly. They’re dropping a two-story, 14,000-square-foot pleasure dome with three different spaces, a full events team, and a rooftop that looks out over both West Palm Beach and Palm Beach, plus the Intracoastal in between. It’s being billed as the highest rooftop in downtown.
That’s the kind of language that tells you two things: they’re aiming at locals who always complain Palm Beach County doesn’t have enough “real” nightlife, and they are extremely confident.
Here’s how it’s set up. The ground level is about 8,000 square feet and split between Kelari and Avli. Kelari is the main dining room, designed after a traditional Greek wine cellar. Avli is the bar and open-air courtyard — named for the central gathering space in a Greek home, because every press release about a serious hospitality group must include the phrase “inspired by the Greek home.” Upstairs is Tarazza, a 6,000-square-foot rooftop with 360-degree views, which in downtown West Palm basically means water to the east, suburbia to the west, and someone on a balcony below you wondering why there’s a DJ on a Wednesday.
Design-wise, Kyma is staying in its lane: whitewashed wood, blue accents, natural textures. Daytime is supposed to feel coastal and easy, like lunch somewhere that requires sunglasses even if it’s overcast. At night, they say it shifts into more of a scene — DJ sets, special events, and “dynamic programming,” which usually means a rotation of themed parties, ticketed dinners, and that one friend who only goes out “if it's a vibe.”
Programming is clearly a big part of the plan. Starting in January, Kyma West Palm Beach will launch a monthly Mykonos Brunch on the rooftop. In practical terms, that means the group is already thinking about daytime bottles-and-bass energy, which downtown West Palm has wanted for years without having to drive south for it. They’re also going all-in on private events out of the gate, with an on-site team for weddings, corporate groups, birthdays, and anniversaries, plus built-in AV and lighting. Offsite catering comes online in February 2026.
The food is what Kyma regulars in New York will recognize: modern Greek cooking built around ingredients they’re clearly proud of. The group says fresh Mediterranean fish will be flown in daily and finished simply with olive oil. Starters include Kyma Chips (paper-thin fried zucchini and eggplant with tzatziki), grilled octopus, and saganaki, the pan-fried cheese that tends to hit the table and immediately turn into an everyone-grab-a-fork situation. For mains, there’s the Lavráki, a whole Mediterranean branzino; lamb chops; and shrimp Santorini, done in tomato sauce with feta. It’s the kind of menu that reads like a pitch to both people who order whole fish and people who just want lamb chops and a martini.
Speaking of: the bar will bring in Kyma’s signature cocktails, including the Lychee Martini and the Kymatini. This is smart. You want continuity when you expand, and nothing says continuity like regulars flying down from New York, walking onto the roof, and ordering “their” drink without looking at a menu.
“Our concept celebrates the rich traditions of Greek cuisine while weaving in the energy and creativity that has defined us in NYC,” says Ryan Tarantino, Kyma West Palm Beach’s director of operations. “We’re so excited to join this vibrant community and share the flavors, hospitality, and warmth of Greece with West Palm Beach locals and visitors alike.”
Translation: they’re betting West Palm is ready for a Manhattan-level clubstaurant — and they’re here to prove it from
