Las Vegas can erase a dining budget before the first drink arrives, especially along the Strip, where a cocktail can cost as much as dinner a few miles west. Head toward Chinatown, the Arts District, or the shopping centers along Durango Drive, and the arithmetic improves quickly: James Beard-honored chefs serve fresh masa, sourdough pizza, West African stews, Vietnamese specialties, and northern Thai curries at prices built for regulars. Even the Strip contributes a Michelin Bib Gourmand amid the steakhouses and tasting menus. These are the best affordable restaurants in Las Vegas.

Jamie Tran applies French technique to the Vietnamese flavors she grew up eating, producing food with enough precision for a celebration and enough ease for dinner on a Tuesday. Her salmon skin tacos are crisp, salty, and gone far too quickly, while the whole fried rainbow trout arrives ready for the table to dismantle. Tran earned a 2026 James Beard Award semifinalist nod for Best Chef: Southwest, another reason this southwest Las Vegas restaurant now draws diners well beyond its neighborhood.
Best for: A smart dinner away from the Strip
Calabash African Kitchen

Oulay Ceesay Fisher cooks the food of the Senegambia, the West African region encompassing Senegal and her native Gambia. Start with fataya, fried pastries filled with seasoned beef, then move into chicken yassa, lamb afra, or one of the deeply spiced stews ladled over rice. Portions are generous, the counter-service setting keeps prices grounded, and Fisher’s 2026 James Beard Award semifinalist nomination confirmed what regulars had already figured out.
Best for: Sharing West African stews and grilled meats
China Poblano

José Andrés built China Poblano around the unlikely pairing of Chinese and Mexican cooking, then let each cuisine retain its own identity. The menu moves easily between tacos, dumplings, noodles, and fried rice, with enough reasonably priced dishes to assemble a full meal without hitting the financial turbulence common on the Strip. Michelin awarded the restaurant a Bib Gourmand in 2026, making it one of the rare casino restaurants officially recognized for value.
Best for: An affordable meal on the Strip
Double Zero Pie & Pub

Chef Michael Vakneen obsesses over fermentation, flour, and the physics of a crust that stays crisp beneath its toppings. The neo-Neapolitan pies include a mushroom-heavy funghi and a marinara that intensifies from the center toward the outer crust, thanks to two preparations of tomato sauce. Vakneen was a 2025 James Beard Award semifinalist for Best Chef: Southwest, while Double Zero’s national pizza rankings give Las Vegas diners one more reason to head to Chinatown.
Best for: Serious pizza without serious ceremony
Esther’s Kitchen

Esther’s Kitchen helped turn the Arts District into one of the city’s essential dining neighborhoods, largely by serving Italian cooking that people can afford to return to. James Trees, a 2020 James Beard Award finalist, anchors the menu with sourdough bread, seasonal pastas, pizzas, and the butterscotch budino that has survived every menu revision. Michelin awarded Esther’s a Bib Gourmand in 2026, an overdue acknowledgment of the value Trees has offered since opening.
Best for: Pasta and bread in the Arts District
Good Pie

Vincent Rotolo speaks fluent pizza, whether the dialect is Brooklyn, Detroit, Sicilian, or grandma-style. The signature grandma pie has a crisp, olive-oil-fried bottom and airy center, while the Good Hot piles on jalapeños and hot honey for a combination that quickly explains its popularity. Slices keep lunch inexpensive, whole pies work for a group, and the Arts District location retains the casual energy of the pop-up that started it all.
Best for: A quick slice or a table full of pies
Lotus of Siam

Saipin Chutima introduced generations of Las Vegas diners to northern Thai cooking and won the James Beard Award for Best Chef: Southwest in 2011. At the Flamingo Road location, bypass the familiar pad Thai and head for khao soi, crispy duck panang, garlic prawns, and coconut-free northern curries layered with herbs and chiles. The extensive wine list can raise the bill quickly, but the food remains remarkably approachable for a restaurant with this much national stature.
Best for: Northern Thai classics with a group
Milpa

DJ Flores starts with corn, nixtamalizes it in-house, and turns it into tortillas that give his tacos, chilaquiles, and other masa-based dishes their foundation. Milpa also serves grain bowls, roasted vegetables, tetelas, and coffee, giving the menu the flexibility of a neighborhood café without treating Mexican cooking casually. Flores earned James Beard Award semifinalist nominations in 2024 and 2025, yet breakfast or lunch here still lands comfortably within everyday territory.
Best for: Breakfast tacos and fresh masa
Other Mama

Dan Krohmer opened Other Mama as a neighborhood seafood bar, though the oysters, sashimi, and cocktails have long drawn diners across the valley. The menu ranges through ceviche, scallop carpaccio, spicy rolls, and larger seafood plates, with Japanese influences showing up frequently without boxing the kitchen into one style. Happy hour offers the smartest route through the raw bar, especially for anyone who wants excellent seafood without paying casino-hotel prices.
Best for: Oysters and cocktails at happy hour
SoulBelly BBQ

Bruce Kalman’s Arts District barbecue restaurant puts the smoker ahead of regional dogma. Brisket gets the attention, but the juicy turkey breast, ribs, sausages, and rotating specials reward a broader order, especially with mac and cheese or corn casserole alongside. Michelin added SoulBelly to its recommended Las Vegas restaurants in 2026, a significant endorsement for a casual counter-service operation where a tray of smoked meat can still be followed by live music and a local beer.
Best for: Barbecue before an Arts District bar crawl
YEN Viet Kitchen
$ | MAP | WEBSITE
YEN Viet Kitchen concentrates on Vietnamese dishes that receive less attention in many American restaurants, particularly specialties from the country’s southern regions. The expansive menu rewards curious ordering: bánh hỏi woven rice noodles, crisp bánh khọt, grilled meats, soups, and seafood arrive with fresh herbs and sauces that let diners adjust each bite. Michelin awarded YEN a Bib Gourmand in 2026, recognition that fits a restaurant where a large table can order widely without producing a frightening check.
Best for: Exploring beyond pho and bánh mì
Yukon Pizza
$$ | MAP | WEBSITE | INSTAGRAM
Alex White makes Yukon Pizza’s crust with a family sourdough starter that has been kept alive for well over a century. The wood-fired pies balance charred edges with a chewy center, while sourdough also works its way into battered bites and sandwiches. White, his wife Dani Garcia-White, and brother Cameron White developed the business through pop-ups before settling near the historic Huntridge Theater, where the prices and neighborhood feel remain intact.
Best for: Sourdough pizza in the Huntridge neighborhood
