Heyday Cookshop Brings Hi-Fi Dining to Naples

Kayla Pfeiffer’s cooking, hi-fi listening bar energy, and guest chefs come to Neapolitan Way.

Naples has a new restaurant built around the idea that dinner should come with a soundtrack worth hearing.

Heyday Cookshop is now open at the redeveloped Neapolitan Way, from the team behind Bicyclette Cookshop. The kitchen is led by chef Kayla Pfeiffer, the 2025 James Beard Emerging Chef semifinalist and Chopped champion whose Bicyclette helped give Naples one of its more closely watched new restaurants.

At Heyday, the room is part dining room, part listening bar, with a separate bar inspired by Japanese jazz kissa culture, where vinyl and high-fidelity sound are meant to shape the pace of the night.

The opening menu pulls from Florida, travel, beach food, comfort food and Pheiffer’s personal memory bank. Peppadew Concha turns Latin sweet bread savory with caramelized goat cheese. “Pub Sub” chicken mousse nods to the Florida grocery-store sandwich canon with pickles, lettuce, tomato and mayo. Florida “cioppino” brings together tilefish, shrimp, corn and green tomato, finished with spoon bread. There’s also a Peking duck snack wrap, amberjack crudo with starfruit and cashew praline, crab salad en brick with caviar, and crockpot smoked duck meatloaf with scotch bonnet and curry leaf mushy peas.

The drinks follow the same path, with vermouth pours, cocktails built around mezcal, poblano, rum, rye and lapsang tea, plus nonalcoholic drinks and small-production wines from independent makers.

Heyday is also built around a chef residency program, beginning with Jorge Pabón of Mili in New York City. Upcoming residencies include Isaac Villaverde of La Tapa del Coco in Panama City, and Pablo Zitzmann of Zitz Sum.
