Miami has learned to approach relaxation with the same enthusiasm it brings to restaurants, hotels, and late nights. Across the city, spas wrap guests in gold, lead them through Turkish hammams, and send them into chambers filled with ice, often inside hotels where the Atlantic remains visible from the treatment table.
The best spas in Miami range from oceanfront retreats in Miami Beach and Sunny Isles to facial bars in Wynwood, Brickell, and Coral Gables. Every July and August, Miami Spa Months makes many of them easier to try, with discounted massages, facials, and body treatments across the city. But no matter the time of year, these 15 places offer the strongest reasons to change into a robe and temporarily stop answering your phone.
Acqualina Spa

Acqualina devotes 20,000 square feet and two floors to its spa, with an outdoor pool terrace overlooking the Atlantic. The thermal circuit moves from a Finnish sauna and crystal steam room to an experience shower that alternates between Caribbean mist and arctic rain. Robed guests can order lunch from a menu that includes tuna poke, grilled octopus, and sliced tropical fruit. The Royal Spa Suite has its own steam room, rainforest shower, lounge, and wraparound balcony, plus enough privacy to temporarily forget that the rest of Sunny Isles exists below.

The three-story âme Spa at JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort is large enough that an afternoon there can begin to feel like a minor expedition. A steam room and salt room lead to a menu that includes cryotherapy, infrared saunas, red-light therapy, radiofrequency treatments, and pulsed electromagnetic fields. The Platinum HydraFacial adds lymphatic drainage and LED light before the final serum is applied. There is also a full salon, helpful for anyone who emerges from several hours of heat, cold, magnets, and electricity looking less transformed than promised.

Bamford Wellness Spa

Bamford opened its first American spa inside 1 Hotel South Beach, importing Carole Bamford’s English-country ideas about organic products to Collins Avenue. The spa also has a steam room, HydraFacial equipment, and Normatec compression boots, which makes the place less rustic than its pastoral origins might suggest. Afterward, guests can sit in the lounge with tea and snacks, wearing robes that likely cost more than anything found in an actual English farmhouse.

Carillon Miami Wellness Resort

Elsewhere, guests float in saltwater, stand inside cryotherapy chambers, receive acupuncture, or strap into machines promising recovery through light, vibration, and compression. I’m not certain anyone needs quite this many ways to relax, but after enough time in the thermal circuit, it becomes difficult to argue against them.
Best for: Turning a spa appointment into an entire day
Ondara Spa

Ondara Spa brings a distinctly Miami sensibility to the traditional spa day. On the fourth floor of the Andaz Miami Beach Resort & Spa, the oceanfront retreat pairs indoor and outdoor relaxation lounges with dry saunas and access to the hotel’s pool and beach. The treatment menu leans into its Florida setting, too: the Florida Orange Body Scrub & Massage pairs a citrus-coconut exfoliation with a coconut-oil massage for smooth, hydrated skin. For something more restorative, try the Saltwater Renewal Massage, which uses warm salt stones to soothe sore muscles and replenish the body with vital minerals. The best part? You can spend the rest of the day moving between the pool, beach, and spa, without ever needing to leave the resort's tropical grounds.

Ritz-Carlton Spa, South Beach

Sana Skin Studio

Sana recently moved its Wynwood studio around the corner to 49 NW 24th St., bringing along the terracotta colors, curved furniture, and shelves of clean skincare products. Each appointment begins with a conversation about the client’s skin before the aesthetician chooses among extractions, microcurrent, gua sha, enzyme peels, or LED therapy. The session ends with instructions for what to use at home. It is a practical approach in a city where skincare advice often begins with staying out of the sun, an option Miami has never made particularly easy.
Best for: Building a practical skincare routine
Silver Mirror Facial Bar

Silver Mirror has locations in Brickell and Coral Gables, neither of which requires changing into a robe or surrendering an entire afternoon. Appointments begin with a skin assessment before moving into facials for acne, sensitivity, dehydration, fine lines, or puffiness. The longest treatment lasts 90 minutes and involves dermaplaning, gua sha, LED light, oxygen, cold therapy, and electrical stimulation of the facial muscles. That is a formidable list for something called a facial, but the alternative is apparently accepting what humidity and Interstate 95 have done to you.

Skn Elements occupies an open storefront in Little River, where the menu begins with straightforward facials and continues into the territory of a medical practice. Clients can book chemical peels, microneedling, laser hair removal, injectables, permanent makeup, and an array of treatments involving machines with serious-looking attachments. Consultations help determine how much intervention is actually necessary. Some people will leave after a facial. Others may decide that their eyebrows, pores, body hair, and forehead all require attention while they are already there.

The Spa at the Four Seasons Surf Club

The spa at the Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club has six treatment rooms, a hammam, steam room, sauna, and tea lounge overlooking the ocean. The white marble and blue accents echo the beach outside, although the only waves here come from the muted music drifting through the hallways. Biologique Recherche facials share the menu with a Japanese Kobido treatment that uses 48 traditional percussive movements to lift and tone the face. The Surf Club Signature Massage, meanwhile, can last as long as two hours, presumably for people with nowhere pressing to be.
Best for: Quiet luxury and a long massage
The Spa at the Miami Beach EDITION

Upstairs from the bowling alley, ice-skating rink, and general commotion of the Miami Beach EDITION, the spa is surprisingly quiet. The treatment rooms and low-lit lounge have the hotel’s clean, white-on-white look, only here nobody is holding a velvet rope. Massages can be upgraded with hot stones, CBD, or 24K gold oil, and collagen masks and LED therapy can be added to facials. There’s also Normatec compression therapy, which inflates around the legs and squeezes them back to something resembling their pre–South Beach condition.
Best for: Recovering from the night before
The Spa at the St. Regis Bal Harbour

The St. Regis Bal Harbour sits across from a mall where a pair of shoes can cost more than a plane ticket, so restraint was probably never part of the spa’s plan. Its 24K Gold Wrap starts with a golden sugar scrub, followed by a warming mask, scalp massage, and hydro massage. There are facials and more conventional massages, too, plus a whirlpool, sauna, and steam room for extending the afternoon. Couples can book a private suite, although being wrapped separately in gold already seems like a fairly serious commitment.
Best for: Gilded treatments with no pretense of restraint
The Standard Spa

The Standard Spa looks across Biscayne Bay from Belle Isle, close enough to South Beach to see the towers and far enough away to avoid most of the noise. Its adults-only hydrotherapy circuit includes a Turkish-style hammam, aroma steam room, hemlock sauna, ice room, arctic plunge, Roman waterfall hot tub, and an infinity pool edged against the bay. Hotel guests receive full access. Everyone else can enter by booking a qualifying treatment, with minimums that change depending on the day—one more reason to call before arriving in a robe.
Best for: Miami’s most complete hydrotherapy circuit
Tierra Santa Healing House

The elevator opens on the third floor of Faena Miami Beach hotel, and the red-and-gold spectacle downstairs gives way to 22,000 square feet of steam, stone, and quiet. Tierra Santa centers on an enormous hammam, where treatments use plant-based clays, sea-salt scrubs, jasmine steam, and oils mixed in-house. The Healing Purification Ritual begins with dry brushing, moves through an exfoliating scrub and coffee-infused body mask, and ends with eucalyptus steam, a cold waterfall shower, and an ice chamber. It is a lot to endure in the name of relaxation, but Miami has never been known for half measures.
Best for: An elaborate hammam ritual
Valmont Spa at The Setai

Five of the seven treatment rooms at The Setai are designed for couples, with windows looking toward either the ocean or the city. Swiss skincare company Valmont supplies the lotions, serums, and other costly substances used in the facials, including the 90-minute Majestic. That treatment combines Valmont products with Kobido, a Japanese massage technique dating to the 15th century. The locker rooms have saunas, steam showers, and cold plunges, while the fitness center overlooks palms and the ocean, a view that makes a treadmill feel marginally less unreasonable.
