There are wine tastings, and then there’s this: Bulla Gastrobar’s spring masterclass, which feels less like a sommelier lecture and more like a direct flight to Ribera del Duero.

Running May 12 to 15 at Bulla locations across the country, the Spanish Wine Masterclass & Bulla Bite Series is a $65 ticket to three courses of tapas paired with wines from Spain’s Familia Torres. The event is built around Celeste wines—Verdejo, Crianza, and Reserva—and they’ve matched each pour with a bite that plays to the bottle’s strengths.

Bulla Salmon Carpaccio

Salmon Carpaccio

It starts light: salmon carpaccio under a thicket of arugula and dill vinaigrette, with crispy capers playing backup vocals. That gets paired with Celeste Verdejo, crisp enough to cut through the richness but still soft enough to let the fish shine. Then comes the Steak Montadito—grilled and stacked with piquillo confit and padrón peppers—alongside the Crianza, a red that doesn’t shout but makes itself known.

Finally, short ribs so tender they’d fall apart under a glare, served with tetilla cheese, caramelized onions, and enough potato accoutrements to satisfy your carb quota for the week. That one gets the Celeste Reserva, a full-bodied red that might just be the real star of the evening.

Each session runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m., but if you’re not ready to quit Spain just yet, you can stick around afterward and get 10 percent off dinner.

The whole thing is part education, part indulgence, and entirely worth the time—especially if you’ve ever wanted a crash course in Spanish wine that comes with actual food, not just sad crackers. Reserve via Eventbrite before it sells out here:
